Planned Fire For Crows Bar Area

WILLIAMS LAKE – A planned fire will take place in the Crows Bar area this month to help restore the original grassland ecosystems. Depending on the weather and the area, it’ll take place from Monday until the end of the month as part of the Province’s Ecosystem Restoration Program. The burn will cover about 500 hectares on the eastern bank of the Fraser River, about 70 kilometres west of 100 Mile House and about 50 kilometres northwest of Clinton. Smoke will be seen from nearby communities. These types of planned fires also reduce the risk of wildfires.
