PRINCE GEORGE – A memorial was held Sunday for Indigenous health advocate Preston Barry Guno, who passed away on Thursday. Guno worked diligently to advance the health and wellness of all people in BC through awareness and culturally sensitive practice.

Guno collaborated with the First Nations Health Authority, Association of BC Friendship Centres and the Metis Nation of BC. That collaboration led to the development and release of the BC Indigenous Cancer Strategy.

“Everybody knew him and loved him and it’s a really big loss for the people up here in the Prince George area,” says Terry Teegee, Regional Chief.

The ceremony honoured Guno’s life and accomplishments.
