Foodie Fridays Return

PRINCE GEORGE — Get ready to bring your appetites and have your phone camera ready, because Foodie Fridays are back again this summer in downtown, but with a slight change.

Instead of the front lawn of City Hall, the event will be held in front of the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre at Canada Games Plaza, starting June 22nd until August 31st. The construction next to City Hall is the main reason for the venue change, but the City expects to return to that spot when “circumstances allow it.”

Last year, over 5,000 people attended Food Fridays and once again, residents will be able to enjoy a variety of food trucks, sidewalk vendors and live music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. before the weekend kicks off.

“The idea was first brought to the attention of City staff by local businesses wishing to add a new dimension to the City’s downtown to complement our already fantastic restaurants and cafes,” says Tkachuk. “Foodie Fridays helps to make use of our fantastic downtown outdoor venues, and give the thousands of people who work in the area, as well as residents and tourists, a pleasant, social, outdoor place to go for a casual lunch.
