WILLIAMS LAKE – The evacuation alert issued by the Cariboo Regional District has been lifted to an all-clear for the Nazko area. There are no evacuation alerts or orders in effect within the regional district’s boundaries. However, residents are reminded to stay away from fast flowing water and road washouts.

The CRD has been advised by the BC River Forecast Centre that high stream flows and potential flooding concerns are expected for the Quesnel, Cottonwood and Horsefly Rivers. Residents living along those waterways should begin preparing in case of flooding.

If anyone is concerned about flooding in their area or need sandbags, they contact the CRD Emergency Information Line at 1-866-759-4977. Residents are also encouraged to register for the Cariboo Chilcotin Emergency Notification System
