Forest Fire Season Underway

May 14, 2018 | 12:41 PM

PRINCE GEORGE – A total of 14 fires were reported over the weekend in the Prince George Fire Centre, most of them in the Peace region.  All have been contained except one south of Pouce Coupe.

So far this year crews have responded to 48 fires, all of them human-caused.

There are no bans on burning in the Prince George area,  but the Fire Centre is keeping a close eye on the weather forecast.

Environment Canada is calling for warm and sunny conditions well into the 20s until at least after the long weekend.
