PRINCE GEORGE – Adrenaline junkies will likely hit the hills again for some mountain biking this summer, however, this year’s batch of thrill seekers are a bit older than you might expect. Caledonia Nordic is now hosting Senior/55+ mountain bike lessons.

This is not the first senior’s event that Caledonia Nordic has been involved in. In the past, it has hosted snowshoe and cross country courses for senior/55+ citizens, but this year it’s stepping things up.

Some of the bikers are gearing up to try mountain biking for the very first time are admittedly a little nervous: “I always am when I try something new, so it’ll be interesting, I’ll see how many times I do fall off,” says Grace Morrice, 55+ Mountain Biker.

The course was constructed after an outpouring of interest from the 55+ community. “We got six coaches trained, six senior coaches trained to come out and work with seniors, so the idea is seniors coaching seniors,” says Kathi Hughes, Senior Coach.
