Tips For A Safe Boat Ride This Summer

PRINCE GEORGE- National Boat Safety Week runs from May 20 to 27 and RCMP are providing a few tips to help keep you afloat this summer. Remember to wear a life jacket, as you can’t assume you’ll have time to put one on in the event of an emergency. Watch your speed while on the lake, as it’s a major contributor to accidents. If you’re boating to a less-travelled area, let someone know where you’re going and when you expect to return. And remember that water and alcohol don’t mix, impaired driving laws are the same whether you’re behind the wheel of a car or driving a boat.
