Wildfire Northeast Of Vanderhoof Update

PRINCE GEORGE – Fire crews have got the upper hand on a wildfire northeast of Vanderhoof. A plume of smoke could be seen from the Village of Vanderhoof for most of the long weekend. The blaze is currently estimated to be 243 hectares in size. 70 firefighters have been working to control the flames and with a little help from Mother Nature. Fire officials say over the weekend there were 18 new fires in the Prince George Fire Centre and the only one caused by a human was the forest fire northeast of Vanderhoof.
