Homicide Investigation Begins With Missing Person Case

FORT ST. JOHN – The search for a missing Fort St. John man has now turned into a homicide investigation. The North District Major Crimes Unit along with the assistance of the BC Corners service have identified the found human remains of John Banky. ​Banky was the homeowner of a house that was reported to be on fire March 30th on Hannaford Road in the Charlie Lake area. The home owner’s vehicle was later found ablaze on Golf Course Road. Police do believe his death is a homicide and are reaching out to the public for any information. Anyone with information on Banky’s death can contact Fort St. John RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
