PRINCE GEORGE — A local 25-year-old is the first to announce his intentions to run in this fall's municipal election.

Kyle Sampson outlined his platform during his announcement over the noon hour at the Canada Games Plaza on Wednesday.

His focus is on people, sustainability, and community development.

The Chamber of Commerce board member is an avid volunteer in the city.

Sampson's presence in the race is being welcomed by longtime City Council member Brian Skakun.

Skakun says competition is a good thing and he's encouraging more locals to consider running for Council on October 20th.
