Elder Abuse Awareness Day Event Takes Place In The City

PRINCE GEORGE- June 15th marks Elder Abuse Awareness Day, it sheds light on a problem that isn’t often talked about. The Ministry of Health says between 4 to 10 per cent of seniors will experience some type of abuse, but it’s believed this type of abuse is very under reported. Dozens of residents gathered at City Hall this afternoon to walk to raise awareness. Organizers say the event is growing every year and it’s important to get the community involved as it keeps the issue fresh in the minds of many.
