MACKENZIE – Highway 39 reopened last night after being closed for about four hours, due to a wildfire burning in the area. The closure was near Lions Lake entrance and was needed in order to allow an aerial water bomber to safely make drops on the fire.

RCMP released news of the closure shortly before 7:00pm Saturday evening. People were asked to stay away from the area of the closure for their own safety.
