PRINCE GEORGE – The new pavilion will officially be opening at L’heidli Tenneh Memorial Park at 10 am this morning. There will be an exciting day full of events to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day, including dancing, drumming, food and entertainment until just after 5 pm.

The $800,000 pavilion was announced in February of 2017 but, shortly after work began on it the following year, construction was halted as remains were found at the location. However, with the consent of the Lheidli T’enneh, work resumed.

Exploration Place will be opening its doors free of charge to the public from noon to 4 pm as well.

Today, a new permanent First Nations Gallery will also be opening.
