PRINCE GEORGE – Groups in Prince George are looking at new data from a point-in-time homeless count to try and determine how to best help vulnerable people living in the community.

The survey, done in April, found 130 people who identified as being homeless.

Kerry Pateman with Community Partners Addressing Homelessness says the count found more women and people with Indigenous backgrounds identified being homeless this year than when the last survey was done in 2016.

Roberta Squire with the United Way of Northern BC says the data helps form a picture of the homeless community and determine what’s needed to help.
