couple of Cougars are off hitting the ice elsewhere with some exciting opportunities over the summer. Today, down in Florida, the Tampa Bay Lightning Development Camp gets underway, where Jackson Leppard will be among draft picks and free agents competing in on and off ice workouts. The 18 year old winger for the Cats is one of five invitees that will be there with some of the Lightning’s top prospects. Leppard is coming off career highs in goals, assists, and points in his second season with the Cats. Goaltender Taylor Gauthier is also heading off to camp. He’s one of just two WHL goalies going to the National Men’s Summer U-18 Team Camp as announced by Hockey Canada today. The camp is a tryout for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, an international tournament being held in Northern Alberta in August.
