PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Cougars used the fifth pick overall in the CHL Import draft to select an offensive minded winger from the Czech Republic.  Matej Toman is 17 years old.  He played for the Czech Republic at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and led the team in scoring with three goals in six games.

Cougars GM Mark Lamb says Prince George had targeted Toman and is very pleased to have him.  “He’s a really skilled player with a lot of upside and he fits into the young nucleus we have in Prince George,” said Lamb.

The club’s second import player, Vladislav Mikhalchuk, will be returning for the 2018-19 season.
