PRINCE GEORGE – Canada turns 151 today and celebrations are planned throughout the area.  Entertainment begins at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park at 11:00 am although things will pick up with the Opening Ceremonies at noon.

Live entertainment is planned throughout the day from the bandstand and more than a dozen food vendors will be on hand to meet the needs of your taste buds.  The celebrations will conclude at 11:00 pm with the Canfor sponsored fireworks.

Meantime heritage lovers may want to head north to Huble Homestead where Dominion Day events are planned.  The heritage park will open at 10:00 am with a traditional pancake breakfast.  You’ll be able to enter a corn-on-the-cob eating contest and a watermelon eating contest for the kids.

Huble Homestead is located 40 kilometres north of Prince George on highway 97.
