Hundreds of Paddlers Will Take Part In this Weekends Canoe Race

PRINCE GEORGE – Nearly a half-century ago marathon canoeing racing was once a popular sport in our region. This weekend over 120 paddlers from around North America will race down the Nechako River. The Two Rivers Canoe Club is organizing two races on Saturday, July 7th. One of the races is a 67-kilometre paddle starting at Isle Pierre and the other a 25-kilometre race from Miworth. The races involve several sets of rapids and its expected paddlers to finish around the 3-hour mark. Both races will end at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park around noon.
