PRINCE GEORGE – BC Hydro is moving on to the next phase of its ambitious plans to have BC completely connected with charging stations.

It has just wrapped up the first two phases of the project, which involves connecting the East Kootenays to Vancouver and connecting Vancouver Island.

Now BC Hydro is entering the planning for Phase Three, which will bring the project closer to home.

“Now we’re moving into Phase Three, where we’re looking to add charging stations that will get you from Kamloops to Prince George,” explains Bob Gammer with BC Hydro. “And then there’s even further talk of ultimately getting out to Prince  Rupert and out to McBride in the east.” BC Hydro’s fast-charging network can charge an electric vehicle’s battery to 80 percent in 30 minutes or less.
