BURNS LAKE – Protesters have called on the new council for the Lake Babine First Nation to develop a policy to prevent anyone with a criminal conviction from running in future elections.

Protesters say its important for leaders to have high moral standards and set a positive example for band members.

The protests came as the new Chief Gordon Alac and his new council were sworn in.
