Coroner’s Inquest After In-Custody Death

PRINCE GEORGE — An inquest will be held into the 2016 death of Jamie Wilford Shanoss.  He died in police cells November 21st, 2016. 

Under the Coroner’s Act, any deaths that occur while a person is in police custody triggers a mandatory inquest. 

The inquest is set for September 17th at the law courts in Prince George. 

The inquest will review the circumstances around the death but will not place fault on any individual or organization.
