Prince George’s Jared Young has quite a busy birthday week. Not only did he turn 23, but the infielder earned a promotion within the Cubs organization after scoring the Minor League Player of the Month for June. Young, who once called Citizen Field home is in his second season of the minors, after getting drafted in the fifteenth round of the MLB Entry Draft in 2017. This spring, he played 69 games with the South Bend Cubs in Indiana, before getting the call to join the organizations Advanced A-Ball team, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Even with both clubs on roadtrips, Young managed to make the switch and suit up for his new team the very next night.
