All Quiet On Wildfire Front

PRINCE GEORGE – It seems campers and hikers did their part to prevent any human-caused wildfires over the weekend.  The BC Wildfire Service reports zero new fires in the Prince George Fire Centre since Friday.

However, the hot dry weather is quickly drying out the forest.  And that’s leading to an increase in the fire danger rating.  It’s moderate to high in the Prince George Fire Centre, with small pockets of extreme ratings southwest of Prince George and east of Dawson Creek.

There have been 231 wildfires in the Prince George Fire Centre this year, burning more than 44 thousand hectares of forest.
