PRINCE GEORGE – Council has approved the City moving forward with some flood mitigation work. The City will apply for some funding under the Infrastructure Planning and Grant Program to help identify some high-risk areas, specifically in the Farrell Road area.
This would constitute the third phase of flood mitigation efforts by the City along the city’s two rivers. Previous work has been done on the north bank of the Nechako River west of the John Hart Bridge, the north bank of the Nechako River east of the John Hart Bridge, the north bank of the Nechako River near the confluence with the Fraser River, the Fraser River at Northwood Pulpmill Road and the Fraser River across from Shelley.
