Summer Games Sendoff: Athletes Board Airlines For Provincial Tournament

The countdown to Cowichan is now over as Today marks the opening day for the BC Summer Games in Cowichan Valley. 226 athletes and coaches from Prince George we’re joined by 31 Quesnel representatives and many others to head to the Summer Games last night. Due to the location of the four day event, three planes were loaded up with the athletes to take them to the island. From there, shuttle buses awaited the members of the Zone 8 Cariboo-North East teams to finish the trip from Nanaimo to Duncan. Opening Ceremonies will kick things off tonight before the more than 20 sports begin on Friday.
