The Friends of Pine Valley was formed in 2005 with representation from user groups to help save Pine Valley from being sold for commercial development. As part of their ongoing support for the retention of the course, the Friends of Pine Valley have made presentations to city council, administration and consultants, planted more than 300 trees and 5,000 seedlings on the course, organized an extreme makeover day, a “Rally for the Valley” (attended by more than 350 supporting citizens and politicians), and most recently teamed up with Omenica Fabricating to fabricate, install and donate benches for Holes 1, 9, 10 and 18.

The 3rd biennial installment of the Friends of Pine Valley Golf Tournament takes place Saturday August 25th at the Pine Valley Golf Course. In 2016 the tournament exceeded expectations with 136 golfers participating. Event organizers were taken aback by the response. With so many participants two additional sessions were added to the tournament. This year the organizers are hoping to, once again, draw a large and enthusiastic group of golfers.

The $50 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf and a dinner. There are also prizes handed out for longest putts, holes in one, and a draw for a $350 monitoring security system donated by Graydon Security.

Participants must register by August 22nd, 2018.
