PRINCE GEORGE – As of Monday night, there have been 151 evacuees registered at Prince George’s Emergency Reception Centre at the CN Centre. More are expected to register throughout the week.

The evacuees have been welcomed from the Cariboo and Bulkley-Nechako regional districts due to the wildfire evacuation orders.

By registering, evacuees can receive assistance with accommodation, emergency food and medical services. All those needing accommodation are in local hotels and motels. Right now, the City is not calling for any volunteers or donations.

The reception centre has been set up along a concourse in the arena near the south-east corner of the building. Also, the Kin 1 arena that’s nearby is being prepped for up to 280 cots, should people need temporary accommodation.
