PRINCE GEORGE – Canada has one of the highest rates of Multiple Sclerosis in the world and according to the MS Society, 11 Canadians are diagnosed with MS every day. Across the country, A&W restaurants are raising funds to beat the disease.

August 16th is Burgers to Beat MS and for each teen burger purchased $2 will aid in the fight to beat MS. That’s not the only way you can help donate, there will be mugs and stickers for purchase and just racking up your bill at A&W today will go towards finding a cure. Prince George’s Sandra Stibrany is on the MS Society of Canada Board and she says there is no cure for MS but with research, we are getting better at treating the disease.

“The MS Society supports what A&W is doing. 10 years ago one restaurant in Canada decided they wanted to do what they could to help and they were successful and it picked up speed and it just spread right across Canada, so this is happening at every A&W restaurant, 925 of them.”

The A&W Fast-Food restaurant has raised over 11 million dollars over the last 9 years to help MS Research and Support Programs and will continue to add to that total in this years 10th annual fundraiser.
