PRINCE GEORGE – As many evacuation orders and alert get downgraded due to area wildfires,  operations at the City run Emergency Response Centre are winding down.

At the height of the wildfire evacuations there were over three thousand evacuees in Prince George,  but those numbers hit about one hundred and sixty-five on Tuesday.   The original location of the response centre was the CN Centre,  and that was moved this week to the lounge at the Kin Centre.

With one more intake opening set for Friday from 9-1, that location is set to close for good if conditions hold, and evacuees will be redirected to the service centre at City Hall.
