BURNS LAKE – An area restriction order is in place for Crown land near the Nadina Lake wildfire. Officials say it’s been put into effect in order to protect public safety. The fire covers about 86,766 hectares on the south side of Francois Lake. As of Tuesday, there are 102 firefighters on site with 44 pieces of heavy equipment.

Under the restriction, no one can be in or enter the Nadina Lake fire area without prior written authorization. A person may enter the area if they are travelling to or from their home as long as they are not subject to an evacuation order, a secondary home that’s not under an evacuation order, someone travelling in an official way or supporting wildfire suppression activities.
