SMITHERS - Category two and three open burning is now allowed through Northwest Fire Centre. Stubble or grass fires smaller than 2,000 square metres, use of burning barrels and burning cages, use of air curtain burners, use of binary exploding targets, use of sky lanterns, and use of fireworks, including firecrackers are now allowed throughout the fire centre.
Anyone using a campfire or burning outdoors is encouraged to exercise caution, despite the fire danger ratings dropping.
