Multiple Evacuation Orders Lifted In Bulkley-Nechako

BURNS LAKE – Multiple evacuation orders and alerts have been downgraded or rescinded by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Wednesday.

Orders near the Cheslatta Lake, Island Lake, Nadina Lake, Verdun Lake and the Tweedsmuir Complex fires have all been rescinded in their entirety. However, three evacuation alerts remain in place for areas near the Nadina Lake, Verdun and Tweedsmuir Complex wildfires. The alert for areas near the Nadina Lake fire goes from the West Francois Lake FSR to Bickle Road West, south from Tatalrose Road to the north shore of Ootsa Lake. The area under an evacuation alert near the Verdun fire is from the intersection of Hewitt Road and Eakin Settlement Road to west of Ootsanee Lake and south Takysie Lake and Uncha Lake to Cheslatta River and Cheslatta Lake. The area that remains under an alert near the Tweedsmuir Complex is south of Glatheli Lake and Intata Reach to the southern boundary of the regional district.
