PRINCE GEORGE – Members of the International Paralympic Committee were at the Otway Nordic Ski Centre Friday and Saturday touring the venue and course in preparation for the 2019 Para-Nordic Games.

The purpose of the International Officials visit was to examine the facilities and make sure they are accessible for everyone. The Ski Centre has added ramps, lowered water fountains and automatic doorways. Officials will also be taking a look at the course, making sure it’s ready for race day with the addition of their new snowmaking machines.

This is the second and final visit from the officials. They hadn’t even finished the final tour before they were telling Kevin Pettersen, Chair of Local Organizing Committee how impressed they were by what the Otway Nordic Ski Club has done to prepare for the Games.

“They have looked at us and they have been very impressed with what we have done. The comments that they have shared with us this morning and also previously is that we have set the new standard for hosting a world championship in terms of our organization,” says Pettersen.
