JDC West Students Chillin’ For Charity

PRINCE GEORGE – It’s not the time of the year one would think about plunging into a pool of icy water,  but this weekend about 50 students and faculty from UNBC are planning to do so.

The JDC West team is putting on its 10th annual Chillin’ for Charity dip this Sunday at 1 pm at the CN Centre Parking lot.  This year’s fundraising goal is $25,000 aimed at helping the Spirit of the North Healthcare foundation raise funds to purchase four Orthopedic O.R video towers.  These will replace the two current towers which are aging,  and provide an additional pair of towers in the hopes of increasing the volume of patients served in any given day.

The students plan to spend all of Saturday night filling the pool full of ice and water. If the fundraising goal is reached,  Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation CEO Judy Neiser has promised to take the plunge herself.
