PRINCE GEORGE – At home on Saturday night, the Prince George Cougars fell to the Kamloops Blazers 5-1.

Not much action at the beginning of the first period until 41 seconds remained and the Blazers snuck two goals in. It was the same idea in the second, with just a minute left Kamloops managed to get another past the Cougars goalie, making it 3-0 Blazers heading into the final 20-minutes.

In the third, Kamloops scored two power-play goals in 20 seconds, Prince George answered with their one and only goal of the game from Mike MacLean. The team generated a season-low 14-shots in the 5-1 loss.

Saturday’s game didn’t see many goals from the Cougars but it did see four fighting majors handed out in just nine seconds. Josh Maser dropped the gloves against Zane Franklin in the first, then seconds later, Austin Crossley squared up with Montana Onyebuchi.
