Mackenzie Among Big Idea Winners For Aviva Community Fund

TORONTO – The Aviva Community Fund has revealed the winners of the small and big idea categories in this year’s competition. Among the three winners for the big ideas category, is ‘The 92’ A Community Centre in Mackenzie, which will receive $100,000. 

The 92 will be a space for various youth groups such as Girl Guides, Scouts, Cadets, arts programs and two Youth for Christ groups that invest in young people. 

The Aviva Community Fund will go towards upgrading the existing sound system to show movies, redo the flooring and replace the lighting to allow for large group games, provide sports equipment and make further improvements for outdoor activities and update the kitchen and indoor decor to provide a lounge for youth. 

The fund will help The 92 become Mackenzie’s first youth centre with a safe and interactive space.
