Cougars Couldn’t Keep Up

PRINCE GEORGE – The Cougars Saturday night game against Saskatoon started out well but they couldn’t hold the lead as they fell 4-1 to the Blades. 

Inside the CN Centre, the Cougars were hosting their “Hero Night” where they honour and recognize local heroes. After the opening ceremony, the game got started quickly as Mike MacLean scored two minutes into the first period. His goal was followed up by two goals from the Blades leaving the score at 2-1 heading into the second. 

The Cougars tried to claw back but couldn’t find the back of the Blades net. Saskatoon scored twice in the third to give the game a final score of 4-1. 

Through 24 games this season, the Cougars are 10-11-1-2, sitting third in the B.C. Division. Through 24 games last season, the Cougars were 9-11-2-2.
