CLINTON – Faster internet service is coming to the Cariboo communities of Clinton, Deka Lake and Wells.

The province says local company ABC Communications won a 50 percent contribution to the project cost from B.C.’s $16 million Connecting British Columbia program.

The project will result in download speeds of up to 50 Mbps as a result of new or improved broadband infrastructure.

“High-speed internet access is critical for people to learn, do business and communicate with each other. In today’s connected world, reliable and affordable internet access is no longer a luxury – it’s an absolute necessity,” said Citizens’ Services Minister Jinny Sims in a news release.
