LED Lights Lighting Up Christmas

While many electricity issues associated with Christmas decorations may not be severe enough to put the whole block out of power, like Clark Griswold in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, blowing a breaker is more common than you may realize. The use of incandescent lights uses more power and costs more money. According to a new BC Hydro report, there has been a significant decline in the use of incandescent lights in Christmas displays due to the costs.

LEDs use approximately one-tenth of the energy that incandescents use, which lowers costs, making LEDs a popular choice for Christmas decorations.
