Exciting news for Prince George hockey fans, as two members of our local hockey community received exciting news today. Spruce Kings Defenceman Layton Ahac has made the roster for Canada West’s team at this year’s World Junior A Challenge. After attending the camp last year, Ahac cites gaining 15 pounds and getting more experience on the ice as his big changes since then; all contributing to a successful camp. Ahac will be away from the squad longer now as the tournament runs December 9th to 15th. Cougars Associate Coach Steve O’Rourke also making headlines today, as he will be Team BC’s Head Coach at this year’s Canada Winter Games.
