VANDERHOOF – A public engagement session was held Thursday by the College of New Caledonia to present the concept design of the new Vanderhoof campus.

Over the month of December and January 2019, a design consultant and construction manager will be hired. During the winter season in 2019, the site and building will be prepared for construction, while also applying for permits. During the spring, initial structural work will take place including some electrical and mechanical. Over the summer, the finishing work for electrical and mechanical will take place, with other interior finishes and grounds improvements. Final interior finishing work will occur in fall 2019, along with systems commissioning and deficiency completion to make it ready for staff to move in. Classes are expected to begin at the new campus in January 2020.

Part of the design for the new CNC Vanderhoof campus will feature a proposed 357 square metre trades shop and two Digital Delivery Instruction (DDI) classrooms.

At this time, students can enrol in 28 DDI courses in Vanderhoof. Those include Bookkeeping, English and Early Childhood Care and Learning for the spring 2018 semester. A full list of CNC’s DDI courses can be found online
