SEATTLE – It was a 2-1 win against the Seattle Thunderbirds Friday night that put an end to the Prince George Cougars five-game losing streak.

In Seattle, the first period was scoreless but that doesn’t mean there was no action. Both goaltenders made incredible saves to keep the score 0-0 heading into the second.

Vladislav Mikhalchuk scored in the second period and Josh Maser scored in the third to make it 2-0. But, minutes later Seattle’s Payton Mount found the back of the Cougars net bringing the score within one.

The final minutes ran out and the Cougars took the win for the first time since December 2nd. Taylor Gauthier made 29-saves, earning his spot as the first star of the game.
