4 Local Judokas Training For Elite Eight

Prince George judokas are in Montreal this week for National training and national competing. It’s Judo Canada’s Elite Eight Championships this week, beginning on Saturday, January 12th, after a national training camp currently underway. Locals attending are the Hart Judo Academy’s Asher Young, Koen Heitman, Lochlan Young, and PG Judo Club’s Tami Goto. The four are all ranked in the top 8 of their U18 weight divisions across the country, earning them a spot at the tournament. Goto attended the Elite Eight last year, where she finished 5th. She also earned a bronze at 2018’s U18 Nationals. Heitman and Lochlan Young are both coming off fifth place finishes in their age groups at the most recent National Tournament.
