Big Weekend Ahead For Spruce Kings

PRINCE GEORGE – The Spruce Kings are in for a big weekend that could affect home-ice advantage for the upcoming playoffs.

The Kings are in action tonight at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena for a matchup against the Cowichan Valley Capitals, who they lost to earlier in the week. The Capitals are near the bottom of the standings, so the Kings will be looking to capitalize on the struggling team and move up the ladder.

The marquee matchup of the weekend will see the Spruce Kings travelling to Chilliwack for a matchup against the Chiefs. The Kings and Chiefs currently sit in a three-way tie at 54 points with the Merritt Centennials for first place overall. The Kings have beaten the Chiefs in three out of four meetings this season and will be aiming for a similar result tomorrow night.

The Kings go into the game with less offence than the Chiefs, but with a stingier defence. Despite playing two more games than Chilliwack, the Kings have given up 32 fewer goals this season.
