Seniors Housing Symposium Coming

PRINCE GEORGE – The City has received some funding from the Union of BC Municipalities to co-host a one-day symposium on seniors housing.

“So part of it is to inform seniors about what’s available for housing Prince George, what are the programs? What are the trends, what’s new, what’s coming? The other part is to gain feedback from seniors in Prince George to share with the City and service providers,” explains Lola Dawn Fennel with the Council of Seniors.

Council, Mayor Lyn Hall, in particular, have identified seniors housing as a priority. The most recent efforts including the Riverbend Seniors Community. The City put up $265,000 to cover the development cost charges as an incentive.

The one-day symposium will take place later in the spring.
