PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Cougars announced Friday that rookie defenceman Cole Beamin will remain on the team for the rest of the season.

Beamin was originally called up on December 31, 2018, from the Nipawin Hawks (SJHL). The 17-year-old Saskatoon native played 28 games with the Hawks, picking up two goals and three points, along with 64 penalty minutes. Beamin has dressed for the Cougars in two games so far on the season with zero points.

With Beamin remaining on the team, defenceman Tyson Phare has been assigned to the Delta Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.

Beamin’s call up last month came after Cole Moberg was injured in the Cougars matchup against the Everett Silvertips on December 29, 2018.
