Community Arts Council Launches Survey

PRINCE GEORGE – The Community Arts Council has turned 50 and, as part of the celebrations, locally-renowned architect and historian Trelle Morrow has released “An Arts Compendium,” looking at arts in Prince George over the past half-century. The book will be released publicly at Studio 2880 this evening at an opening house beginning at five p.m.

But, it was also a chance to launch a bigger initiative. As part of a series of events to celebrate fifty years, the Council is launching a survey of the arts community.

“Our goal with this project is to develop a comprehensive and detailed portrait of arts and culture in Prince George and demonstrate just how widespread it is,” says Sean Farrell, Executive Director with the Community Arts Council.

He says that is not limited to arts, but anyone with an interest in the arts can complete it. The survey results will be used in the planning of a new arts-based community centre in the downtown and other endeavours.
