PRINCE GEORGE – A statue that has been part of the Lheidli T’enneh community for nearly 100 years, was stolen just before the new year.

Now, the four-foot effigy is safe and sound at Exploration Place. The statue was taken from the Saint Pius Church located on the Shelley Reserve just north of the city.

Staff at Exploration Place saw the statue on social media and with some investigating work, they found the statue just outside of a local gravel pit in College Heights.

The plaster statue did receive some damage and will be stored at Exploration Place temporarily.
