Taylor Gauthier is in Red Deer this week getting set to take the ice Wednesday with the country’s best junior players in the CHL/NHL Top Prospect Game. The goalie’s absence is exciting news for Cougars recent draft pick Tyler Brennan.  The Winnipeg, Manitoba-boy has been called up the Cats to fill the empty goalie spot. Brennan was the Cougars’ 1st-round pick in the most recent WHL Bantam Draft, going 21st overall. The goalie has played 17 games this season with the Rink Hockey Academy Nationals of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. Brennan stands at 6’3″ and 179 pounds and owns an 11-4-1 record this season, a 2.59 Goals against average, a 914 SV%, and two shutouts at the Midget Prep level.
