PRINCE GEORGE – A new 10-year agreement between the Saik’uz First Nation and Nechako Lumber Company has been announced. The deal is a renewal of a previous 20-year agreement that expired in 2018.

The new agreement will provide 200,000 cubic metres of lumber to the Nechako Sawmill located just west of Vanderhoof. That amount of lumber is equivalent to 3000 truckloads.

The delivery of fibre under this agreement, which amounts to approximately 25% of Nechako Lumber’s annual timber supply requirements, provides certainty that the mill will continue to operate for the foreseeable future.
